there are things that we can't predict

I'm typing this while drinking coffee and looking through wide windows. It's snowing heavily but there's something wrong with the view. Instead of looking at Luxembourgian streets I'm seeing Tychy getting covered in white puff. These two days weren't in my favour and I'm going to tell you why.

I was so excited about this trip. I mean it was going to be my first ever travel on my own. Spending over a week in Luxembourg sounded lovely, not even mentioning a day off in Brussels.
What's the saying? If you want to make God laugh tell him abour your plans? Well I don't consider myself as a religious person but it pretty much summes up my life right now.

On Thursday I came to Tychy and on Friday I was meant to fly to Frankfurt-Hahn.
I got a lift from a lovely couple from Warsaw and I couldn't believe how much we have in common. It turned out that they've lived in Australia for two years and if that's not exciting enough - they've spent four months travelling back to Europe through Asia. They even have a photoblog dedicated to their adventures. You can also find them here. We were talking non-stop and I don't even know when we got to Tychy. I feel so inspired to travel now. I love when I meet people like these two pretty much by accident. That's what life is about.

The next day I woke up at 5am as my bus to Katowice was leaving at 6:10. It was around 8:30 when I got at the airport. Everything went smoothly and soon I was waiting for our gate to open. And when it finally did it turned out that the plane wasn't even at the airport. So we were said to wait 30 minutes. And another 30 minutes. After four hours of constant waiting everyone got angry and anxious. All the flights got either transfered to a different city or cancelled. I got scared that ours might be cancelled as well and I didn't have to wait for too long for that bad news.

I was there completely alone and didn't really know how to react. Thankfully I met a family that's helped me. The queue to Wizzair office consisted of over one thousand people so I opted for not going there. Instead of that, Dominik gave me an nearly hour long drive back to Tychy and I'll be grateful for that until I die. We talked about that whole commotion and about traveling in general. It turned out that he's lived in Perth for quite some time and that he has been to countries like Saigon etc. It cannot be a coincidance that I've met three people who's been to Land Down Under in such small amount of time. I have to go there someday too.

In the end I've managed to rebook my tickets for Monday but I'm not quite satisfied with this fact as 26th was the day when I was meant to go to Brussels and my tickets are gone. I've bought them for 0€ and now they are over 15€ so I have to bail. Hope I'll be able to visit it soon and to meet lovely Elizavieta that was meant to host me ;-)

So I can say that I got reminded that we cannot plan everything but also to look for positives in such situations. I've learnt my lesson and when something like that happens in the future I'll know what to do.

Hopefully next time I write something it will be about a delightful stay in Luxembourg.

plans for January

Hi! How is it going?

It's so crazy that January will soon be over! I can't get over the fact that time flies so fast. It's important to make the most out of it. And sticking to this rule, I have an exciting news to share.

In December I got an invitation from my aunt to visit her in Luxembourg. I've been there once and I'm still amazed by its beauty. I'm pretty convinced this city is one of its kind and I cannot wait to back. This time I'll be sure to have my tripod with me and take some star lapse / evening pictures. Also I've been thinking of doing a little video/vlog from this trip but I don't know how it will turn out.

Anyway -  the thought of finding new places and meeting new people cheers me up so much!I've been so worn out by school and everything that I think this trip will drag me away from going completely crazy. I'm flying to Frankfurt on 23rd and then I'll have to take a shutter bus to Luxembourg. Knowing my luck I won't get to the bus stop on time so I'll have to wait another 2 hours at the airport (hope they have coffee and free wi-fi there). I'm a bit scared because it's going to be my first travel on my own.
But hey - if I want to travel the world, I have to get used to that!

On 26th of January I will be also travelling to Brussels as I found tickets for 0€ and I couldn't resist :) I'll be a bit short on time but I hope I'll be able to see the main attractions of this beautiful city (and probably have a waffle with a cup of coffee of course)

One thing I can say for sure - I'm going to start this year in the best way possible! I'll be sure to post more from my travels (as I'm planning more!) as well as pictures and other things.

Let's make 2015 an unforgettable one.
