beginnings, beginnings and the craziest trip ever

After being indecisive for so long I've finally made my mind about this blog. I've always wanted to have a space where I could post my thoughts and share them with people who think just like me. In the place I live in now I feel kind of miserable and confined. All my dreams are being crashed and the only thing that keeps me sane is travelling. It not only changes the way I look at this world but also helps me forget about all the bad stuff that come with the reality. Because I am a heavy dreamer. I always have been. This blog isn't called 'Looking for my way home' for no reason. I'm on a journey trying to find a place where I could finally feel free and happy. I will blog about things that help me with that.

One of the highlights of this year so far was my trip to Berlin. It was so spontaneous that I still can't believe that it actually worked out! Me and my friend planned everything in one week but yet nothing went wrong. The original plan was just to attend Lana Del Rey's gig in Spandau Zitadelle but I had no idea that that trip would be so inspiring! It feels like a dream everytime I think about it. Okay, so let me tell you the whole story.

One day my friend came up to me and asked whether I'd like to see Lana Del Rey again, but this time in Berlin. We don't live in Germany, so I replied half-heartedly: "Yeah, sure!". I didn't think that we would actually go, but when I set my mind to something it usually happens. And this time was no different. In a few days we had already bought our bus tickets and tickets to Lana's gig. Accommodation was our only concern. It was to expensive to stay in a hotel so we decided to find a host via couchsurfing. I can't say that I wasn't scared but we had no choice. And now I must admit that was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

We arrived at ZOB on 19th of June. Little bit not sure of how it all will look like we waited for our host to pick us up. When we finally met, all my concerns were gone. R. was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. Anyway, we took u-bahn which is a german equivalent to underground and went to the flat that was located in Mitte, 10 minutes away from Alexanderplatz. I couldn't believe in what I saw when we entered the flat. It was a spacious modern loft. View from the balcony was breathtaking to say at least - you could see the river Spree and Berliner Dom from it. I had to pinch myself because the feeling of happiness was just to overwhelming. A French girl was staying with us as well so we decided to drink coffee and talk for a bit to get to know each other. After that me and my friend went out to explore the city, but after getting to Alexanderplatz we were too exhausted to see anything else so we came back. The four of us made a delicious dinner, talked about our countries, the differences between them and things that happen around the world. While vinyl version of Cat Stevens' Wild World was playing, I went on a balcony to see the view and I tried to comprehend the feeling of how lucky and blessed I was to be there.

It literally took us 8 minutes to get to the Alexanderplatz.

After wandering through Alexanderplatz we decided to come back and eat a proper meal.

The loftwas incredible. It had that positive vibe that made you feel great.
I'd love to live in a flat like that in the future.

Boats full of tourists were passing the building from time to time.

I haven't had my tripod with me so excuse this blurred picture.
The view was stunning anyway!

I'll write more later on.
