Before I write all about the precious time I had in Denmark's capital, I decided to share a very special place with you. As you may or may not know, I'm a big porridge person. I mean, is there any better way of starting off your day than with a bowl of warm and delicious porridge? I don't think so.
Before I go somewhere I always do a little research on places worth going to so when I found out that there's a cafe in Copenhagen that specialises in porridges I knew I had to visit it.

Grød has three locations in the city of Copenhagen and unfortunately I didn't manage to visit all of them. On a Saturday morning we decided to go to the one in Torvehallerne.
I can't even describe the excitement I had been feeling when we entered the building.
They have so many options you can choose from. Oats, spelled wheat, gluten-free, anything your hungry soul might want to have.
All of the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. In addition, your porridge is made right in front of you, so you can actually have a glimpse of the whole porridge-making process ;-)
As there were three of us, we decided to opt for three different options.
Peter went for the caramel one, covered with chunks of apple and roasted almonds (it was really sweet but finger-licking good!)
I, on the other hand, opted for the one with granola, skyr and apple vanilla compote. (still drooling over this little bowl of destiny, it was so so good! and well, I finally tasted the famous skyr)
Simon didn't choose the oats one, instead he had spelled wheat porridge with pear, nuts and other delicious toppings which names I can't recall.
We all had a bit of every single one but I liked mine the best. Nevertheless, they were amazing and I'm really glad that we decided to have our breakfast there.
Super friendly staff, people enjoying their heavenly tasty porridges and good company made that particular morning rather delightful.
If you are a porridge addict like I am and if you find yourself wandering through Copenhagen's streets, remember to pop into one of Groed's destinations to comfort your taste buds. And if you're really in the hurry you can always take your porridge to go. How rad is that?
